Tancho (Japanese name for magnificent Red-Crowned cranes) is among the rarest cranes in the world. It is known as a symbol of luck, longevity, and fidelity in Japan.
Tancho is also one of the world's largest cranes. It stands 158 centimeters (5 feet) tall, has a wingspan of up to 2.5 meters (8 feet), and weighs from 7 to 15 kilograms, (15 to 26 pounds).
