The ghost town of Komanskop is just one of the many incredible places we will be visiting during the Namibia workshop.

Kolmanskop is situated in the forbidden territory of the Namib Desert in Southern Namibia. It was once the home to hundreds of German miners desperately seeking their fortune in the Namibian desert. The town was built in the early XIX century as a result of a frantic diamond rush and was ultimately abandoned in 1954 when the diamond field was exhausted. The stately homes have been nearly swallowed by the desert dunes and heavily demolished by the wind. In 1980, the mining company De Beers restored several buildings and established a museum, which has now become a major attraction for tourists and photographers. We will use the special permit to extend our hours there.
