Adobe to speed up creative apps on NVIDIA RTX Spark

Adobe is optimizing Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Substance 3D for NVIDIA RTX Spark: Windows apps will get up to 2x faster AI tools and creative workflows.

Adobe is optimizing Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Substance 3D for RTX Spark, promising up to 2x faster creative and AI tasks. The platform is designed for Windows devices and running AI models locally.

Adobe adapts Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Substance 3D for the NVIDIA RTX Spark platform

Adobe is expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA: the company is optimizing its key applications for RTX Spark, a new Arm platform focused on artificial intelligence tasks. The chipset is designed for laptops and compact computers.

Graphics and AI on Windows devices

RTX Spark is a system-on-a-chip developed by NVIDIA in collaboration with MediaTek for Windows devices. Its developers promise high performance in graphics and AI processing, especially in laptops. According to NVIDIA, the platform's graphics capabilities should be comparable to those of the RTX 4070 mobile graphics card. It is also designed to run large language models directly on the device.

Adobe plans to leverage RTX Spark's capabilities in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Substance 3D. According to the company, optimized versions of the applications will be able to run AI tools, video editing, color correction, and effects processing up to 2x faster.

Continuing the partnership

This latest phase builds on the collaboration between Adobe and NVIDIA announced in March 2026. As part of that effort, the companies worked to accelerate the processing and analysis of media assets in Frame.io using graphics processors. Adobe has also cited Substance 3D, Firefly Foundry, and 3D digital twin creation workflows as other areas of joint work.

Deepa Subramaniam, Adobe's vice president of product marketing for professional creators, noted that creative projects increasingly combine images, video, audio, animation, and 3D. System performance is therefore important to help professionals focus on their ideas and bringing them to life. She said that optimizing Photoshop, Premiere, and Substance 3D for RTX Spark, along with accelerating Frame.io in the cloud, should deliver the speed needed for this kind of work.

Jason Paul, NVIDIA's vice president of local AI, linked the update to the rise of AI agents, which help users build more complex and sophisticated workflows in familiar Adobe applications. He said that optimization for RTX Spark could speed up these tasks by up to 2x.

Windows, macOS, and the new Surface

The announcement also reflects a broader trend: lately, Adobe has been more vocal publicly about supporting Windows than macOS. The company develops and optimizes applications for both systems, but more often makes announcements in favor of PCs rather than Apple computers.

RTX Spark was unveiled earlier in 2026, but interest in the platform picked up again after the full launch of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra. This $2,600 laptop is positioned as a competitor to the MacBook Pro and uses a new chipset.
