Sony FX5 Delayed Again: Deliveries Expected in November
Sony FX5 deliveries are expected in the first half of November following delays and a final quality check. What’s known about the timing and possible issues with the camera.
Adorama expects FX5 deliveries in the first half of November after a final quality check. The camera has already been delayed several times; a possible reason is problems with the rear LCD screen.
Sony FX5 Could Go on Sale in November After a Series of Delays
Sony FX5 deliveries are expected in the first half of November. Adorama gave this timeframe in an email to customers, saying that Sony had completed the camera’s final quality check.
“We’re pleased to share an update on the Sony FX5. Sony has completed the final stage of quality control. According to the latest information, delivery to customers is expected from early to mid-November. Thank you for your patience and support. We’ll do our best to get the FX5 to you as soon as possible,” Adorama said in its message.
The store currently lists November 15, 2026, as the camera’s release date. This matches dates that appeared on some official Sony websites earlier in October. Sony Germany and Sony France set a revised shipping date of November 16, a month later than previous estimates. Meanwhile, B&H and Sony USA have not yet updated their store information or listed a release date.

The November date is the latest change to the schedule. Sony unveiled the FX5 in July and initially expected sales to begin in August. The launch was then officially postponed to September, then to October, and November is now the expected timeframe.
Adorama’s email also indirectly points to a possible reason for the delays. Some buyers of early units reported issues with the rear LCD screen: in particular, the screen could separate from the plastic body. Sony’s mention of a final quality check is consistent with speculation that the company has identified and is fixing a manufacturing defect.
After several postponements, some potential buyers may prefer to wait for the camera before trusting the latest delivery estimates. Previous promised dates have already changed several times.
A full assessment of the FX5 will be possible after production units have been tested. However, first impressions of the camera give reason for interest: the model features a new 16-megapixel sensor and, judging by preliminary results, delivers high video quality and a wide range of features.
