A set of badges featuring cameras from the series has been prepared for the 30th anniversary of Ricoh GR
As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for the Ricoh GR line, Ricoh Imaging is releasing special accessories. These include a set of 16 enamel badges featuring miniature images of cameras and anniversary designs. A special version of the GR IV is also being released to mark the anniversary.
The badges were originally scheduled to be unveiled on October 21, alongside the GR IV anniversary kit. However, the set’s launch has been postponed to Friday, November 13. The reason given was unforeseen circumstances. According to Digital Camera Watch, the other anniversary accessories and the camera kit itself are still expected to be released on October 21 as planned.
Fourteen badges depict Ricoh GR models from different generations. The collection includes the GR1, GR10, GR1s, GR21, GR1v, GR Digital, GR Digital II, GR Digital III, GR Digital IV, GR, GR II, GR III, GR IIIx, and GR IV. Two more badges feature the Ricoh GR and 30th anniversary logos. The GR IVx, which is in development, is not included in the set, as the camera has not yet been released.
The anniversary kit will be limited to 6,000 units worldwide. In addition to the Ricoh GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition, it includes a Finger Strap GS-4 (30th), a Ring Cap GN-3 (BK), a Metal Hot Shoe Cover Ricoh GK-2 (30th), a battery, a USB cable, a standard wrist strap, and a set of anniversary badges.
Ricoh’s European website lists the badge set at €99.99—about $112 at the current exchange rate. However, the page still lists its release as next week, despite reports that it has been postponed to November 13. Ricoh USA has posted a page for the anniversary kit, but the accessories and badges are not listed separately there.
B&H is also selling the GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition kit. The store says orders will begin shipping on October 21; the kit includes the badges and the anniversary accessories listed above.
