Lumix celebrates its 25th anniversary with a series of events for photographers and videographers

In May, Panasonic began celebrating a quarter-century of the Lumix brand by introducing the Lumix L10 camera. Now the company is preparing a series of Lumix Collective events in major cities around the world, including New York.

The events are aimed at creators, photographers and videographers who work with Lumix equipment. The program will include workshops, hands-on opportunities to try the equipment, and discussions about creativity and the work of the community.

On Instagram, Lumix thanked fans around the world for being part of the brand’s story over the past 25 years. The company said it was launching Lumix Collective to bring content creators together at special events in different countries. The post also said: “We look forward to celebrating 25 years of Lumix with you.”

The schedule begins on November 17, 2026, in Manchester. Events will then take place in Sydney on November 20, Berlin on November 21, São Paulo on November 24, Milan on November 25, and Paris on December 4. The New York event is planned for early December. Registration for the European events is already open; details for the other events are expected to be available later.

The brand’s anniversary story

Panasonic Lumix has created a dedicated section on its Chinese website to mark the brand’s 25th anniversary. It features material about significant models released since 2001, the Lumix legacy, and Panasonic’s signature color reproduction.

The first camera in the series was the Lumix LC5, which went on sale on October 27, 2001. Among the subsequent models, the company highlights the 2002 FZ1, the FX5 and FX1 from 2003, the FX7 from 2004, and the FX01 and TZ1, which appeared in 2006.

The Lumix G1, released in 2008, holds a special place in the lineup’s history. It was the first interchangeable-lens Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera and the first conventional interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera overall, excluding the rangefinder Epson R-D1 and Leica M8.

The GH1, released a year later, ushered in a new era of compact video recording for the brand. In 2014, the GH4 expanded the lineup’s capabilities with support for 4K recording. Panasonic took another important step in 2019, introducing the S1 and S1R, the company’s first full-frame mirrorless cameras. Since its launch, the Lumix S series with the L-Mount has become a successful product line for Panasonic.

Anniversary camera and special edition

A separate article on the Chinese website is dedicated to the Lumix L10 Celebratory Titanium Gold Edition. The L10 is the 255th Lumix model and draws heavily on the design of the series’ first camera, the LC5.
